Myanmar's Civil War Is Expanding: Thousands Of Refugees Fleeing Into China

Thousands Flee Violence In Burma -- Times Online

China has urged Burma to tighten security along its border and stem the flow of refugees fleeing fighting in northern Burma.

Tens of thousands have streamed into China's Yunnan province in the past few days to escape battles between Burmese government forces and an armed group.

The United Nations’ refugee agency said as many as 30,000 people may have taken shelter in Nansan county since August 8.
