WASHINGTON (Reuters) - A decision by the U.S. attorney general to probe deeper into alleged CIA abuse of captured terrorism suspects may not land anyone in jail, and it could just produce more headaches for President Barack Obama who wants to move on.
A report issued by the Central Intelligence Agency's inspector general this week offered a possible road map for building cases.

My Comment: I know one thing .... no jury in the United States is ever going to convict a CIA officer who has been charged for using harsh interrogation methods against any of the accused 9/11 masterminds.
But aside from that fact ... to attempt to prosecute not only the officers but the lawyers (and maybe politicians) will open a Pandoras box that will make every administration open to prosecution and legal harassment to any incoming administration on any national security issue that they feel can be processed legally.
Personally, I doubt that this CIA Special Prosecutor will ever succeed in prosecuting anyone .... but the cold chill that it sends throughout the Intelligence community will result in "second guessing" of operations and continuous concerns over legal liability .... even when the lawyers and politicians say that it is legal.
This naming of a Special prosecutor was done with haste and with little planing .... but the consequences (however) will be long lasting.
