The agency’s acting director will tell Congress today that agents on the ground the night Ambassador Chris Stevens was killed never requested military assistance, Eli Lake reports.

When the CIA’s acting director, Michael Morell, testifies Thursday before the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence, he is expected to say that the agency never requested Europe-based special operations teams, specialized Marine platoons, or armed drones on the night of the Sept. 11 attack in Benghazi, Libya, according to a senior U.S. intelligence official.

My Comment: If true .... his testimony contradicts reports that the CIA at the annex in Benghazi did request help on three occasions but were ignored, resulting in two of these CIA contractors ignoring orders to stand down and running to assist those who were fighting this assault ... eventually getting killed for their efforts. So who is right .... CIA’s acting director Michael Morell's version in today's testimony .... or what those who were in Benghazi are saying. From where I am standing .... the White House wants the intelligence community to take the fall for this debacle, and their officials in the agency are now pushing that narrative. But if there was ever a case for a special prosecutor, this is it. But like the Fast and Furious scandal, I expect that the White House will not accommodate such requests. On a side note .... I expect Former CIA Director Petraeus to say the same thing tomorrow.
