The Su-27 Flanker Fighter jets of the Russian Air Force took part in the "Vigilant Skies 2011" joint exercise b the Russia-NATO Council. The "Vigilant Skies 2011" counter-terrorism exercise was designed to prevent attacks such as 9/11 by Cooperative Airspace Initiative (CAI).
