Military Drive For Jeep
From The Sydney Morning Herald:
The Jeep could be on the verge of making a return to its roots: serving in the US army.
While today the vehicles are mainly used by suburban mums and dads making the run to school, jeeps got their start in life during World War II when they were used by US forces in a range of situations.
They earned a reputation for being able to take punishment, but eventually were dropped from active service.
Now Chrysler is pushing for a modern version of the Jeep to again serve in the military.

My Comment: I cannot see it being used in hot war zones .... but everywhere else it may be practical .... and maybe cheaper.
