British Complain That Their Bullets Are Too Small To Kill The Taliban
BULLETS used by British troops are too small to defeat Taliban fighters, soldiers claim.
Five direct hits can be needed to bring down fanatics - many of them high on opium, a report found.
Our Boys' little 5.56mm calibre rounds also tail off after 300 metres - and can easily be blown off course. Yet half of all Helmand firefights are fought between 300 and 900 metres.
Meanwhile Taliban marksmen use powerful 7.62mm ammo for their AK47 machine guns.

My Comment: At least the Americans and other NATO members are using the larger bullets.
