The failure of allied forces to 'develop a proper strategy for peace' held back the rebuilding of Iraq, former Foreign Secretary David Miliband said today as British military operations in the country came to an end.

Mr Miliband was speaking just hours after a string of explosions hit Baghdad killing at least 13 people and leaving more than 70 injured.

He said the conflict had ‘proved how much easier it is to win wars than to win the peace’, adding the priority now in Iraq was to establish a ‘multi-denominational political system that is more or less democratic’.

My Comment: A brief moment of honesty from the British Foreign Minister, Will we hear the same from Secretary of State Clinton/Condoleezza Rice or President Obama/Bush .... I doubt it.
