Chinese Y-8 GX6 Turboprop Maritime Patrol and Anti-Submarine Warfare Aircraft

Chinese Y-8/9 GX6 Turboprop Long Range Maritime Patrol and Anti-Submarine Warfare Aircraft which is being developed for the Chinese Peoples Liberation Army Navy (PLA Navy). 

The Y-8/9 GX6 Maritime Patrol and Anti-Submarine Warfare Aircraft is outfitted with a multi-mission surface search radar, a Electro-Optical (EO)/Infrared (IR) sensors turret and a magnetic anomaly detector (MAD) boom.

MQ-4C Triton Maritime Surveillance Unmanned Aircraft System

The MQ-4C Triton broad area maritime surveillance (BAMS) unmanned aircraft system (UAS) flew for the first time on May 22, 2013. The MQ-4C Triton is variant of the RQ-4B Global Hawk operated by the Hawk United States Air Force (USAF). 

 The MQ-4C Triton unmanned aircraft system (UAS) can carry 1,452kg of payload internally and 1,089kgs on external hard points.

The MQ-4C Triton Maritime Surveillance Unmanned Aircraft System  is capable of maritime intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR) missions up to 24 hours at altitudes greater than 15,000 m at a radius of 3,700 km.

The MQ-4C Triton flew for eight minutes flight in restricted airspace, the MQ-4C Triton unmanned aircraft, controlled by ground-based Navy and Northrop Grumman personnel, reached 20,000 feet altitude.

First Indian P-8I Poseidon Maritime & Anti Submarine Warfare Aircraft Delivered

Indian Navy has taken the delivery of the 1st of 8 Boeing P-8I Poseidon Long Range Maritime Reconnaissance and Anti Submarine Warfare (LRMRASW) aircrafts. The P-8I Poseidon is based on the modified Boeing 737-800(NG) airframe.

India Receives Its 1st P-8I Maritime Patrol and Anti-Submarine Warfare Aircraft

Indian Navy has received its first P-8I long-range maritime reconnaissance and anti-submarine warfare aircraft form Boeing in Seattle. Indian Navy will receive another two P-8Is form Boeing next year while remaining 5 will be delivered later on as 4th and 5th P-8Is are already under construction.

Japanese P-3 ASW Aircraft Photographs Chinese Type 054A Jiangkai-II Class Missile Frigates

Atsugi base P-3C land-based, long-range, anti-submarine warfare (ASW) patrol aircraft of the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force ( JMSDF) photographed the Chinese Type 054A Jiangkai-II class missile frigates while they were passing through the Osumi Strait.

 Chinese naval fleet includinc, Type 054A Jiangkai-II class 529 Zhoushan stealth frigate, 530 Xuzhou stealth frigate and 851 intelligence-gathering ship.

Taiwan Orders Latest US AN/SSQ-53F Sonobuoys To Hunt Chinese Subs

The Republic of China Navy (Taiwanese Navy) has ordered 440  highly advance AN/SSQ-53F sonobuoys from the United States  to improve its anti-submarine warfare (ASW) capabilities.

Taiwanese Navy will recieve 440 AN/SSQ-53F directional frequency and ranging (DIFAR) sonobuoy in a deal worth US$335,000.

German Air Force To Deploy Euro Hawk Next Year

The German Air Force (Luftwaffe ) unveiled the Euro Hawk unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) which will be able to stay in air for over day and half with multiple sensors. German Air Force is hopeful that Euro Hawk will be ready for deployment next year

Euro Hawk is a modified variant of the RQ-4B fitted with the European sensors including an EADS' SIGINT package to fulfill the requirements of the German Air Force which was looking for replacement of its Dassault-Breguet Atlantique electronic surveillance aircraft.

Pakistani P-3C Orion Destroyed in Terrorist Attack

Atleast one P-3 Orion anti submarine and anti surface aircraft has been destroyed while another two has suffered   serious damage in  a terrorist attack at the PNS Mehran. Pakistan Navy's Naval Special Services Group(SSGN) and Pak Marines are conducting the search and destroy operation against the terrorists.

Total of 14 to 20 terrorists are involved in the attack our which atleast 6 have been killed and another has been captured alive by the Special Operations Forces of Pakistan Navy.

US EP-3E ARIES Provide Intelligence to Turkish Military Forces

United States is allegedly providing intelligence about the Kurdistan Workers’ Party to the Turkey by using the EP-3E ARIES [Airborne Reconnaissance Integrated Electronics System] Aircraft. 

Ambassador of the United States to Turkey, Francis J. Ricciardone, has so far declined to provide additional details about his earlier statements that the United States spent around $400 million in annual costs to help Turkey in fighting terrorism.

RNZAF Gets Upgraded P-3 Orion Maritime Patrol Aircraft

New Zealand Air Force has received 1st upgraded P-3 Orion maritime patrol aircraft at Whenuapai airbase. Total of six P-3 Orion aircrafts will be upgraded to increase their reconnaissance capabilities. 

This upgrade covers replacement of the navigation and communications systems and improvements to its radar system.
