Obama Silent On Surveillance Controversy -- White House Dossier
President Obama said nothing Thursday as the nation was gripped by news that the National Security Agency has been tracking the telephone calls and Internet behavior of millions of Americans.
Obama, who is traveling, had ample opportunity to say something before departing the White House around midday. He made three different speeches – at an education event in North Carolina and two fundraisers in California – but never once alluded to the controversy.
Instead, he left it to a deputy press secretary to issue a carefully worded statement.

My Comment: My prediction .... he will say something either today or this weekend .... it will be brief and no questions will be permitted.
Update 12:35 EST: President Obama has just said the following ....
.... "Nobody is listening to your telephone calls," Obama told reporters after delivering a health care speech in San Jose, Calif., denouncing the "hype" surrounding recent news reports.
He made no mention of the NSA Prism program.

My Comment: After Benghazi. Targeting AP/FOX News reporters. IRS leaks and targeting political opponents. Taking this and everything else that has happened in the past few years into context ..... President Obama assurances on the NSA program are not enough .... far from it.
