Assad May Claim Asylum In Latin America, According To Reports -- Al Bawaba
Syrian President Bashar al-Assad has reportedly been looking into the possibility of claiming political asylum in Latin America.
In an official visit to Venezuela last week, Syria's deputy foreign minister, Faisal al-Miqdad, brought a classified letter from Assad to President Hugo Chavez.
A government spokesperson refused to reveal details of the letter but told Israeli newspaper, Haaretz, that Assad's message touched on "the personal relationship between the two presidents."

My Comment: Other Arab news sources, Israeli, and Russian are reporting the same thing .... that Syrian President Assad is contemplating fleeing Syria. Even the UN chief has commented on this possibility. What's my take .... because he is not winning this civil war, through attrition he is losing against greater numbers of rebels. Throw in all the Jihadists who are now pouring into his country .... I suspect that he and some of his key military advisers believe that it is only a matter of time before the Syrian military starts to crack .... and according to recent reports the Syrian military is starting to break down.
