Defeating Bashar Al-Asad Is Proving To Be A Difficult Task For The Syrian Rebels



Bashar Al-Asad May Stick Around A Bit Longer Than Expected -- Business Insider

The United States Senate has issued an order to the Pentagon to come up with a "military options" for the Syrian Civil War.

The options must come within 90 days of the enactment of the National Defense Authorization Act, reports the website Foreign Policy, and must not include boots on the ground. Also the order does not "explicitly call" for Assad's ouster and does not authorize the military to use force.

My Comment:
Much of the Syrian military is still sticking with him .... and with the rebels disorganized, there is a good chance that this civil war will continue for a long time .... probably ending up like Lebanon .... a country divided along ethnic and religious communities after a few years of war and conflict.
