The operators of the Australian Clearance Diving Team One (AUSCDT 1) of the Royal Australian Navy (RAN) ) used inflatable boats to get near merchant vessels and boarded it in a traning mission to prepare themselves for the Operation SLIPPER in 2012.
Purpose of this exercise was to improve the Enhanced Boarding Capability (EBC) of the members of the Australian Clearance Diving Team One (AUSCDT 1) for approaching, boarding and securing the vessels in anti-piracy and anti-terrorism operations.
