Allies Strain to Mend Split -- Wall Street Journal

Obama Talks to French, British as Coalition Pounds Libya; Downed Pilots Rescued

A coalition of military powers solidified its control over Libya's skies for a fifth day Wednesday, even as it continued to struggle to resolve an internal conflict over how to lead the campaign.

A North Atlantic Treaty Organization official Wednesday said the alliance's warships has begun patrolling off Libya's coast to enforce the United Nations embargo on the country, the Associated Press reported. The naval mission will be commanded from NATO's operational center in Naples, Italy, and will consist of two frigates, six minesweepers and a supply ship, the official told AP.
