NATO General Warns On Afghan Handover Target -- Reuters
(Reuters) - NATO will not meet targets for transferring security responsibility to Afghan forces unless allies provide hundreds more specialist instructors, the head of its training mission said on Tuesday.
Building up the Afghan police and army to 305,000 by next year is critical to a U.S. and NATO goal of passing control to Afghan forces so that Western troops can eventually withdraw.
