Another Fortress Falls But Gaddafi Diehards Fight On -- Sydney Morning Herald

SIRTE: Soldiers of Libya's National Transitional Council have entered Bani Walid, one of the last two outposts still loyal to Muammar Gaddafi, it was reported yesterday.

The Arabic television service Al Jazeera said council forces had encountered heavy resistance from Gaddafi loyalists but controlled 60 per cent of the desert oasis on Sunday.
