White House Endorses 2012 Defense Spending Freeze -- Defense News
As Congress works to pass spending legislation for 2012, the White House has endorsed a Senate plan to freeze the Defense Department's base budget at 2011 levels.
President Barack Obama's administration supports the appropriations bills for the Defense Department and the State Department passed by the Senate Appropriations Committee, according to an Oct. 19 letter from the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) Director Jack Lew.
