Marines Frustrated By Ban On Bracelets Honoring Fallen Warriors -- Stars and Stripes
Marines around the world are angry about a crackdown on bracelets that honor the war dead, which they say is illogical and unevenly enforced, according to a story in the Marine Corps Times.
The Marine Corps uniform policy forbids most jewelry but does allow metal bands with a width less than half an inch commemorating troops who are missing in action or prisoners of war. Marines say the KIA bracelets are identical to the permitted POW/MIA bracelets and serve the same purpose, the story said.
