Afghan Anti-Terrorist Police Unit Captures Sona Urea Fertilizer Used For IEDs
Afghan Anti-Terrorist Police Unit and Polish Special Forces Group has captured terrorist responsible for preparing improvised explosive devices (IEDs) from sona urea fertilizer smuggled into Afghanistan from Pakistan. These improvised explosive devices (IEDs) are used in attacks on International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) soldiers.

In 1967, Dr. William Podlich took a two-year leave of absence from teaching at Arizona State University and began a stint with UNESCO (United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization) to teach in the Higher Teachers College in Kabul, Afghanistan, where he served as the “Expert on Principles of Education.” His wife Margaret and two daughters, Peg and Jan, came with him. Then teenagers, the Podlich sisters attended high school at the American International School of Kabul, which catered to the children of American and other foreigners living and working in the country.

Afghan Special Operation Forces Eliminate Insurgents in Wardak Province
Members of the Afghan Special Operation Forces (also known as Commandos) armed with M-4 carbine rifle participating in insurgent clearing operation in Chak district, Wardak province of Afghanistan.
Operators of the 6th Special Operations Kandak Unit took part in this clearing operation in Chak district, Wardak province and was responsible for eliminating 47 insurgents.

Six AV-8B Harrier Harrier Jump Jets of United States Marine Corps Destroyed in Taliban Attack
Two Marines of the United States Marine Corps (USMC) are dead and many more were wounded in an attack on Camp Bastion/ Camp Leatherneck in southern Afghanistan by the Taliban militants who were dressed in U.S. Army uniforms. Marines were able to respond quickly and killed around 15 Talibans militants which were armed with rocket propelled grenades and small arms.
ISAF (International Security Assistance Force) spokesperson James Graybeal has said soldiers died "following an insider attack involving Afghan police."
This attack has resulted in major damage to the aircraft hangar and atleast six of the eight AV-8B Harrier Harrier Jump Jets at the base were destroyed. British Prince Harry is stationed at the base with his Apache AH-64 attack helicopter.
Attack started with an Afghan wearing an Afghan police uniform fatally shot two Marines at the checkpoint.

The Taliban militants were able to breach the camp's outer security perimeter under the cover fire from theautomatic rifles, rocket-propelled grenade launchers and mortars just after 10 p.m.. They were able to set on fire six out of eight Harrier jump jets and damaging the other two. Militants were also able to damage 6 aircraft hangers and destroyed 6 refueling stations.
