Somali Rebels Say Second French Soldier Died After Failed Rescue Attempt -- Voice of America
Somali rebel group al-Shabab says a second French soldier has died after a failed attempt by France to rescue one of its citizens held hostage in Somalia.
An al-Shabab spokesman said Monday the soldier died from wounds suffered in the fighting to free military agent Denis Allex. The spokesman repeated the group's claim that Allex is still alive.
The rebel group posted photos of one of the killed French commandoes to its Twitter account.
