The Russian Air Force will confirm the order for the 65 YakovlevYak-130 subsonic lead-in fighter trainer (LIFT) within the next couple of weeks. The Commander-in-Chief of the Russian Air Force, Col. Gen. Alexander Zelin has said that all the jet trainers will be delivered by the end of 2017.
The Russian Air Force has total requirement for 300 Yak-130 fighter jet trainers which can also be used as a light attack aircraft. The yak-130 LIFT was officially inducted in the the Russian Air Force's training academy in Krasnodar in July 2009.
