The U.S. Air Force Is Focusing On Future Wars
The U.S. Air Force has been so strained by the demands of current wars that its combat readiness for a prospective large-scale conflict has slipped. This has provoked alarm among senior leaders and has prompted a “readiness review” that could eventually shake up training and equipping priorities throughout the entire Air Force.
“We were doing so much that our readiness rates were decreasing,” said Air Force Gen. William M. Fraser III, chief of Air Combat Command, based at Langley, Va.

My Comment: The Air Force brass have a "vision" for the future (minus the F-35 program) .... but defense budget cuts are on the horizon, and one can only assume that these cuts are going to hamper this "vision and focus" on how to fight wars in the future.
