Soldier In Afghanistan 'Friendly Fire' Incident Faces Manslaughter Charge -- The Guardian

Mother of Lance Corporal Michael Pritchard learns charges are being prepared following death of her son.

Manslaughter charges are being drawn up in connection with the death of a Royal Military Police officer in Afghanistan in a "friendly fire" incident, the Observer has learned.

Lance Corporal Michael Pritchard, 22, was shot dead by a British army sniper in Helmand last December while at an observation post.

My Comment: To have these charges laid on a soldier tells me that there must have been gross misconduct and negligence. Our prayers are with the family of Lance Corporal Michael Pritchard.
